Like a doctor will examine and treat a patient, a Building Surveyor will investigate a defect and recommend where appropriate, the best course of action. The investigation will include a detailed inspection on site to determine what is happening and the primary cause or causes of the problem.  In some cases in can be very difficult to pin point the root cause of a defect and thus suggest a suitable remedy. The analysis will include remedial measures to be taken to rectify, and this can be various options depending on the nature of the defect and budget. The investigation can be presented in a report with fully annotated photographs to assist.
